The house gardener

I'm a big fan of indoor plants, not only  do they look beautiful but word has it they also help to purify air and relieve stress. Forget standard pots though. Indoor plants have had something of a make-over of late and terracotta planters have been replaced by terrarium pyramids, eclectic glass vessels and DIY plant hangers. I was so excited to discover the new book 'The House Gardener' by Isabelle Palmer which is packed with indoor gardening tips such as how to create your own terrarium, table centre or even a fairy-tale garden for children. Who needs the great outdoors?!

The House Gardener by Isabelle Palmer is published by CICO Books and is available from rylandpeters.com

Loving this indoor plant make-over, how about you?

I had a quick look around the internet and found these fab terrariums from Etsy. I also love this plant hanger and these very cool wall vessels by 1012 Terra. Or if you've got some free time over Easter how about this copper plant holder DIY project?!

I've hoarded tonnes more indoor plant inspiration on my 'Greenery' board on Pinterest too.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

Snaps from a beautiful home in Finland

I've been a fan of Finnish blog Time of the Aquarius for as long as I can remember. Blog editor, stylist and writer Minna takes such beautiful images of her world. I particularly love the calm nature of her home which has been decorated in white, grey and  light wood. Just the inspiration I need for a hectic Tuesday! How about you?

Photographs: Minna JonesTime of the Aquarius. With kind permission.

I spy one of my favourite chairs: the Artek 66  (15% discount with code MYSCAN).

You must also check out this and this post featuring Minna's summer cottage on an island in the Finnish archipelagos, imagine spending weekends and holidays here? Bliss!

I'll be popping back later with a rare extra post so stop by if you have the time!

Monochrome and cognac in a vintage inspired apartment

I hope you had a wonderful weekend? We've had real April showers here in Southern Sweden and as I write from my corner in a cafe by the sea this morning the rain is coming down in sheets outside, it's all very cosy! Indoors is the best place to be today -  and I have just came across this little gem on Stadshem. This two room apartment is teeming with vintage finds and mid-century pieces. I love the white, black and cognac colour scheme too, very lovely.

Stadshem

I can't take my eyes of that black gloss Smeg fridge! Anything that catches your eye?

I'm a huge fan of cognac, it can add real warmth to a colour scheme. Some of my favourite colour combinations include the blue and cognac mix in this pretty Swedish home, monochrome and cognac in this stunning Danish home and the grey and cognac in this apartment.

Have a lovely Monday!

PS Thank you to the wonderful Krisp Interior for featuring an interview with me over the weekend, I really enjoyed taking part!
